Our Families and Parenting Services celebrated their move into new premises with a fun day for the local community.
Youngsters enjoyed a host of activities at the Family Fun Day at the new home of our Families and Parenting Service in Cowgate, Newcastle.
From boxing lessons to bouncy castle jumping there was lots of entertainment provided by Children North East and their partners at Cowgate Community Centre – Barnardo’s, Castle Nurseries, Sporting Chance and Newcastle Community Asset Trust (NCAT).
Manager of our Families and Parenting Service, Tracey Welsh, said she was pleased to welcome so many people through the gates and hopes to meet more members of the community as her new centre becomes established.
We’re immediately offering a family support drop-in and music sessions and sensory play for babies. Our Whoops! home safety programme will also be close at hand to offer home safety checks and provide first aid training.
The Families and Parenting Service also runs courses for parents and teenagers called Today’s Teens and Tomorrow’s Teens and a range of other family support services.
